Speaking engagements for March

Sometimes I’m glad I’m not making my money speaking. The last few weeks were absent with public speaking engagements, but March 2011 seems poised to change all that! (at least for a month)

I’m invited to speak at a Microsoft event for owners of businesses with less than 250 seats, a Dutch Career event and a new type of meeting by the Dutch Networking User Group (NGN).

This is going to be fun!

On this Microsoft-Citrix-HP event, I will deliver a 45-minute session to owners of businesses with less than 250 seats on the Optimized Desktop. It’ll be challenging to deliver the tough Microsoft message of spending on licenses to save on everything else. Luckily, I have Marianne Havermans by my side. She is one of our most loyal customers, IT director at the KNCV Tuberculosis foundation (a sub-250 seat company) and a happy Windows 7 user.

With thousands of attendees, the Dutch Career Event (Nationale Carrière Beurs) is the biggest career event in the Netherlands. In the slipstream of this event, several verticals have their specific events. IT is one of them. Lead by Arjan van Dijk, ambassador at the Dutch Platform for IT Professionals (NGI), I will be talking an hour to IT jobseekers about progressing a career by volunteering your knowledge and skills.

After the success of the NGN Windows Server 2008 R2 Day, back in October 2010, the team has volunteered to host a new couple of sessions, based on Group Policy management and Security. I will be hosting a session named "TPM, WTF?", where we will discuss BitLocker Drive Encryption, the role of the TPM chip and how to centrally manage TPM ownership and BitLocker Recovery Information in Active Directory. Definitely a geek subject!
