Windows Active Directory Explorer (WADE) - new screenshots

So I was told that I needed to remember who I worked for in a nice way of course :) So I have handed WADE to the same developers that have been working on SchemaExplorer.

They have been doing quite a lot of work with the program and the modifications are as follows:

1. They have made it completely threaded, this was after I complained that on a massive network the app just hangs and it’s irritating.

2. They also enabled multiple Active Directory discoveries on different threads (see screenshots below).

3. The connection dialog (where you connect to a network) is now a very good looking wizard.

Now these don’t seem to be big changes but I assure you, anyone that has every worked with any application that is multi threaded it’s a nightmare working with all the multiple threads running all over the place. The application is now ready to do the normal GUI updates that were shown in the previous screenshots.

The beta testers that sent me comments I have passed your emails to them and as soon as they have a public ALPHA they will be sending it to you. That should be in the next few weeks (which is exciting!)

Hope to get the developers to release this soon!!!

Let me have your comments please!

Thanks darling! I'll always be concerned about you.

This looks like nice stuff by the way. I hope I get my hands on a copy one day, before you become the next sysinternals and charge billions.

Now get out there and buy my darn book. I feel a little low so little interest has been shown :) And spread the word too!

Also, while we're about it.

I want to get an MIIS password reset kiosk built with voice telephony password resets. I have the Speech Server 2007 and an Intel Dialogic board and two servers.

We can take it to TechEd and do the demo's in a presentation and show the new PeopleSoft MA you've done <grin, by then at least> at the same time.

Looks sweet.

Is this program also capable of creating a full snapshot of AD?

There is a tool called Snapshot that creates a snapshot of the Windows registry before and after an action, i.e. before and after you install something. It then displays everything that got changed because of the installation of an application.

I am asking this because I am looking for an AD snapshot tool that creates a before and after snapshot before and after the uninstallation of an Exchange server.

Cheers,

Victor
